This project was implemented in partnership with VNG international and the county local government for
Kapoeta South County.

• Over 3,000 people in Kapoeta South County were reached with hygiene and sanitation promotional message, especially on hand washing, water safety during the covid 19 era through radio talk show and road sound system campaign.
• Trained more than 15 WMCs and WUGs on Financial management of water user fees in Kapoeta town, Katiko and Longeleya Payams.
• Successfully trained WMCs and caretakers on their roles and responsibilities in Kapoeta town, Longeleya and Pwata Payams.
• Successfully conducted WUGs meeting for Good Governance and Development of By laws and guideline in Kapoeta South, East and North Counties
• Conducted based line survey to determine the number of functional and non-functional boreholes including WMCs.
• Training of 75 women leaders on leadership skills in Kapoeta South, East and North Counties.
• Successfully conducted WUGs meeting on financial management
• Training of PWF on Social accountability mechanism.
• Successfully trained WMCs and WUGs on cost recovery mechanism and VSLA.
• Created Good coordination relationship between the Local Government and Payam WASH Forum, Water Management Committees and Water User Groups.
IHDO South Sudan is currently implementing a WASH project in Kapoeta South County, Kapoeta East County, Kapoeta North County and Torit funded by VNG international under SDLG Project. This is a 4 years project to be completed in 2026 after successfully completing a 3 years IDEAL Project from 2020-2022.
Some of the activities implemented included based line survey where 110 water points were assessed in Kapoeta South County, 70 water points were functional while 40 were nonfunctional, Training of 75 women leaders on leadership skills, WUGs meeting on financial management, training of PWF on Social
accountability, Formation of PWF in Pwata and Joint monitoring of activities.
