The overarching objective of this sector is to promote and capacitate disadvantaged children, youths and women in the field of education both informally and formally to realize their potential for effective and efficient human resources through education advocacy, sponsorships, trainings, and infrastructure developments.


Fact Check
According to 2008 census for South Sudan population, only 27% are literate. The literacy rate for male is 40% compared to 16% female. Only 22% of rural adult population is literate compared to 53% of urban population (SSCCSE, 2008). The Gross enrolment rate for primary school in 2009 was 72% (NBS, 2009). 66% gross intake rate compared to 14.9% net intake rate for primary 1 (NBS, 2009). There was average of 52 students per teacher (NBS, 2009).

- Informal education (Life skill education, manual work skill and rural sport)
