IHDO’s dedicated WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) officers recently conducted in-depth financial management and accountability training sessions for the Water Management Committees (WMCs) in Katodori Payam, Kapoeta East County, and Pwata Payam, Kapoeta South County.
These trainings, which engaged 35 participants in each location, represent a pivotal step toward creating stronger, more self-sustaining communities.
Through the Sustainable Development for Local Governance (SDLG) project, we aim to empower local leaders with essential tools and knowledge to ensure transparency and accountability at local water points. This training emphasizes the importance of meticulous record-keeping and encourages WMCs to adopt effective cost-recovery mechanisms to fund ongoing maintenance. These efforts are critical in preserving clean water access, which directly impacts the health and well-being of these communities for generations.
Together, we are making a lasting difference!”
